[WEDDING WEDNESDAY] Bridal shoes

bridal shoes

If satin cream or white shoes aren’t your thing, fear not. It’s your wedding day, you can wear what want!

I knew I didn’t want the traditional satin sling backs and had thought I’d struggle to find the perfect pair. As it was, the perfect pair found me less than a month after we’d booked the venue!

For fellow brides-to-be who want to think outside the (shoe) box, there are many styles to choose from that will help your feet stand out.

Go bold.

I love the idea of adding a pop of colour. If you’re going traditional with your dress, adding a colour pop with your shoes will make your wedding day look stand out. Go for “something blue” (2) or a pop of pink (1)!

Fancy having some fun?

Not one to take things too seriously? Sophia Webster’s bridal collection has some seriously fun footwear. Choose a pair of pale blue heels with a fun message on their soles (3) or an über cool pair of sandals (4) – totally want these sandals for my honeymoon!

Embellish your feet.

Opt for shoes with added flair like these embellished sling backs at Boden (5) or these Carrie Bradshaw style striped heels (6).

Fabulous flats.

Planning to dance your wedding night away? Flats will make sure you’re comfortable but that doesn’t have to mean boring – oh no! If you can’t bear to not have a pair of heels, why not have a pair of flats to hand for when your feet start to tire? These metallic flats (7) will be worn again and again post-wedding day, while these nude flats (8) will ensure your feet are looking pretty on your wedding day. If you’re planning to wear flats for all or part of your wedding day – remember to check them with your dress, if you’re wearing a floor-skimming gown.

Sparkle on your wedding day.

If you’re not keen on cream or ivory satin shoes but still want something that doesn’t stand out too much (like the blue or pink heels above!), why not choose a pair of pared down glitter shoes? Go silver in this cut out sandals (9) or gold in more traditional court shoes (10).

What would you wear on your feet on your wedding day?
