[CATWALK] From the Spring Summer 2012 catwalks: The Great Gatsby

Despite a release date of nearly a year away – and no release date even confirmed yet for the UK – there is nonetheless increasingly fevered excitement over the re-making of the Great Gatsby. Not least in the fashion world. This Spring the influence of the era of the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald is seen keenly on the catwalks – at Etro and Gucci, to name but two:

Drop waists and feather details give a 20s feel to some beautifully modern-looking dresses at both fashion houses. Metallics add a luxe appeal to the dresses whilst the geometric shapes give an art deco effect to the looks.

And, to whet your appetite, here is a first look at The Great Gatsby:

Are you excited by the 20s influence on the catwalk for Spring Summer 2012?
