This weekend is all about enjoying the brief spell of good weather that is currently gracing the British shores and looking forward to even sunnier weather on my holiday to Spain later this week! These are reflected in my choices for today’s Lovely Links somewhat:

What have you been reading this week?

After a lovely few days spent in London, I am now back in Cardiff and intend to enjoy a lazy Sunday, pottering and catching up with friends.

The links this week are a real mix: continuing my obsession with beauty products and nosing into other people’s bathroom cupboards and to more thoughtful pieces about the way in which fashion is perceived in different professions.

• I have been obsessed with the Top Shelf feature at Into The Gloss ever since I discovered it.
• And now I have a new obsession to add to it, Vogue Paris has it’s own In The Bathroom Of… series!
• Keeping on the beauty theme, Yves Saint Laurent is launching some amazing-looking Tie and Dye Top Coat nail polishes this spring! Can’t wait to try these out!
• Off on a complete tangent, I was interested to read Hadley Freeman’s musings on the seeming conflict between politics and fashion, in this week’s Stylist magazine.

This weekend I am taking time out from city living with a couple of days in the country. Seeing family, lazy coffees in the weak spring sun and walks through muddy fields are my main activities. • This week saw the passing of Margaret Thatcher. She has certainly continued to split opinion in death as she did in life. For a fashion spin, Kurt Geiger asks, was she a style icon?
• It feels as if I’ve been wishing for Spring for weeks now. It’s still not here just yet but that doesn’t mean I can’t start shopping for the perfect summer sandals – like these that Styloko found at Asos.
• For me, the wide-brimmed trilby is proving the ideal transitional piece to take me from winter to spring in style – check these out at Blue Is In Fashion This Year.
• Hair is such a personal thing, especially for women. I’ve written before that I’m not particularly precious about mine – often chopping it all off, or adding a fringe without much thought. But somehow recently I have become quite attached to my longer length – but am having thoughts of chopping it into a long bob for the warmer weather, like Lily over at What I Heart Today.
• The Fashion Guitar’s first hair tutorial is inspiring my current curly/messy look – which is making me consider keeping the length in my hair!
• Finally, this week is the week that my make-up brushes will be cleaned, thanks to these tips over at The Glitter Guide.

What have you been reading this week?

After last weekend’s Bank Holiday, I was kind of hoping that we might be granted another four-day weekend. No such luck! So instead I’m cramming in as much as possible during this two-day weekend. Quality time with friends and family and a little “me time” to recharge my batteries.

Right now I’m totally loathing the cold weather and really really want to go somewhere hot.

• This week I have discovered a new favourite blog: What I Bought Today. This lady has the exact style that I love so: chic, classic and timeless.
• Speaking of which, I wrote a piece about my own style for the IFB weekly project.
• It’s been a good week for blog finds: this gorgeous tumblr blog, A well traveled woman, is filled with beautifully curated photographs.
• It’s the time of year for a Spring clean, but what about spring-cleaning yourself? Garance is giving herself a make-over!

How are you spending your weekend?

It’s been a while since the last Lovely Links post on the blog, so it’s high time I get myself back into gear and start blogging properly again. This weekend, is the first time in a while that I’m home, with a good boxset on the go (The Killing, if you’re interested – the third series) and with not much else to do but sit back and eat a lot of chocolate Easter eggs.

This weekend London is playing host to Fashion Week and I am here too, enjoying a few shows and catching up with blogging friends.

It’s the weekend again and what a lovely feeling to relax and forget about the worries of the office for a few days.

This weekend has been spent mainly doing a little work on the house, catching up with friends over tea and cake and taking advantage of the dry weather!

• The weekend is the perfect time to bust out the baking utensils and turn your hand to a little kitchen craft. Why not try this delicious sounding recipe over on The Simply Luxurious Life?
• As New York Fashion Week is well underway it would seem that the weather has other ideas, having dumped a load of snow on the Big Apple for the first day. • Yesterday I spent a very happy few hours surrounded by my best girl friends, drinking tea and eating cake at Waterloo Gardens Teahouse.

• With home offices in mind, I read an interesting article over on Red this week that suggests that women, whilst still losing out financially in the work place, are actually out performing their male colleagues when they decide to leave the work place and be their own boss. Tempting?
• This week, Garance Doré is asking all of the important questions!
• With Fashion month upon us – as New York Fashion Week kicks off next week – what better time to partake in the Fashionista’s Prêt-à-Portea Afternoon Tea at the Berkeley Hotel, as Coco’s Tea Party did.
• After a few weeks of freezing temperatures and snow, I am now celebrating the end of January and the hope that Spring is around the corner by filling my home with daffodils.

Happy Sunday everyone! How’s your weekend? I’m spending mine in the country, taking walks through snow covered fields and warming up with hot chocolate in quaint little cafes. It’s bliss.

This past week has been busy, at work, at home and on the blog, so taking a weekend to unwind and recharge is just what was needed.
